I think it’s finally happening. I’ve waited for so long. I can hear the cracking, The chipping, Of this world gone wrong. So protected Yet Neglected I have been. But a new life awaits, Wanting to begin. I am ready. I am strong. To take on the world And find where I belong. Beyond my shelter. Away from home. I am not alone, I am on my own.
I think it’s finally happening.
I’ve waited for so long.
I can hear the cracking,
The chipping,
Of this world gone wrong.
So protected
Yet Neglected
I have been.
But a new life awaits,
Wanting to begin.
I am ready.
I am strong.
To take on the world
And find where I belong.
Beyond my shelter.
Away from home.
I am not alone,
I am on my own.

Once the music starts There’s not much you can do. You can fight the beat But it will defeat you. It will bind your mind Until you choose to unwind. So let the emotion swell Until it shatters your shell. Don’t think of regret Or the mounting fear. They’re no longer a threat They can’t interfere. So let the fire ignite And then claim your right: This is your time. This is your night.

I walked several miles to reach the oak in the field. I was surprised to find what time had concealed. Left for years the plant had grown Unbothered, unbroken, but not alone. The tree was now a forest With roots stretching far, Holding up branches That reached out towards north star. I laughed a little bit And even shed a tear Because it was on that very land, That our love first appeared. The seed became a weed That spread on it’s own Beautiful in a way And spectacularly overgrown.

This day has been a dream And I’m feeling deja vu. This story and this theme Don’t seem similar to you? My thoughts are in a mess As I walk through the crowd. The lights are too strong The people too loud. It seems time goes on endlessly With faces and shadows surrounding me. But if I am destined to a life in repeat I’d spend it with you. My soul complete. You are the echo I want to hear Day after day Year after Year.
